Waipapa

Here are a few photos from a recent trip to The Damn. Due to a combination of factors, such as under-use, moss, dampness, tree cover, orientation and MASSIVE spideration, the parameters for climbing here are ridiculously narrow. Raining the day before? You’re outta there. Too sunny? Nah bro. Climb in the afternoon? Go back to Froggat. Mild drizzle? On a slab, you tell me. So we were lucky to get TWO days in a row. Until mid-afternoon the cloud cover was enough to keep the humidity at bay, allowing for a few good sends from all concerned. But as soon as the cloud parted, the dark rock heated up to ONE MILLION degrees, and every move felt ONE MILLION times harder. But climb we did…HIZAAH!
