Commonly known as BeastKong, and occasionally as Stuart Kurth, I’ve been climbing and falling off rocks for thirteen years. For most of that time bouldering has been my specialty, and the pursuits of fame and glory therein have taken me all around New Zealand as well as many parts of the world in the search for inspiring bits of rock to climb. During the odd fit of peculiarity I’ll climb sport or trad, and I’ve also been known to come last in a few competitions. My other diversions; writing, photography and film making, have led me to create a blog about what I do, and that has mutated uncontrollably into this site. Vaguely, the aim is to cover all mediums of climbing in NZ: coaching, rad images and footage, words and beta, plus the odd scathing gear review thrown in for good measure.
